Water water everywhere....

This week we have been learning all about capacity and volume. We have done this through really fun, practical activities and getting quite wet too! We started the week with a house competiton to transport water from one container to another. This was great as it made us think about which container had the largest capacity and therefore would help us to move the water faster. We really thought about our choices. At the end of the week, we held an investigation into how much water different items around our classroom can hold. We decided to measure in cups and had to estimate how many we would need. This was so interesting as when we then tested them, some were a lot different than what we thought due to them being ,for example, tall and thin did not hold much water when we thought it would.
