Thursday 18th June 2020

Hi Team R-B,

PE: Have you completed any of the Viking Games Challenges yet? Don't forget to email Mrs Horrigan with any videos and photos of you doing your challenges.

Maths: Continue your Missing Macaws challenge below ...

English: Today I have attatched two poems a 'classic poem' (one that lots of people recognise) and a 'contemporary poem' (a newer poem). The poems are: The Owl and the Pussy Cat (classic) and The Michael Rosen Rap (contemporary). Today I would like you to compare the 2 poems. I would like you to use the vocabulary you learnt yesterday to help you.

- stanza

- rhyme

- rhythm

- alliteration

- personification

- repitition

- imagery

- simile

- metaphor

Spelling: Today I would like you to play '4 in a row' with someone in your family.

Topic: Today we will be learning how to design our own fashion items.

Via Padlet and video this week we will be hosting a fashion show which is going to be led by us as designers of fashion. Every child will design a new fashion item, make it, and model it and send a video of them on the 'cat walk' for me to put into one big fashion show video!

We will work in different categories: recycled clothing, futuristic clothing, 1970s style and sports wear. Pick one of the categories above to base your piece on.

Research the category carefully before you choose.

Today you will design an item of clothing according to your category. Consider which materials to use and justify this. The designing process is vital for creating effective outcomes. I want you each to create carefully thought out designs and to take your time.

Life Skills: With the help of your adult, can you learn how to know if a lightbulb needs changing.

Happy Thursday!

Love Miss R-B, Mrs Fetherston, Mr Brown and Charlie Fudge x
