Monday's learning

Just a reminder about the key message behind home learning...

As we enter yet another week of lockdown I just wanted to reiterate my own position about home learning.

Every school day I will endeavour to ensure there are activities that are available to you for maths, English and topic. They are there to provide you with ideas or a focus. There is no expectation from me that you have to complete every activity at all. The situation we find ourselves in is like nothing we have seen before, and this in no way can replicate learning in school. The well-being of your children (and yourselves as parents/guardians) trumps everything else currently, so do not feel under pressure to get all of these learning tasks completed. There are other resources available (like the BBC Bitesize daily lessons) and of course you can opt for these instead or create your own!

Ensuring the children are not falling behind and are in a position to return to structured learning at school is very important and where possible should be encouraged, but not at the cost of yours and your child's sanity. Each of you are in different situations and only you know the best choices for your child. Do what you think is best in terms of how you structure your days and how much you are asking of them.

Please do continue to share the great things that you are doing at home on the Padlet page and keep in touch with each other. It can be hard staying home and not seeing friends so facetime where possible and share learning with us on our class page!

Stay safe, I miss you all and I hope we can get back soon.
