Hi Team R-B,

Don't forget to send me/post on Padlet your CRAZY hair styles!

I have re-uploaded a link to Padlet, hopefully this should now work. Let me know!

PE: Can you have a go at a Joe Wicks workout today?

Maths: Today, I would like you to help make a cake or prepare dinner. I would like you to help your grownups use the scales to weigh the ingredients needed. Post your photos on Padlet.

English: Well done for writing some amazing morals this week, I have loved reading the emails I’ve got!

Today I would like you to edit and revise your story.

  • Choose 3 spellings from your story you’re not sure of then check them using a dictionary
  • Add 3 exciting adjectives to your story
  • Add 3 ambitious adverbs to your story
  • Check your story for missing capital letters and full stops
  • Make sure you have used a sentence with commas for lists, apostrophes for omission and possession and a question.

Spelling: This week we are looking at the i sound spelt with a y. Can you play 4 in a row using the words below. Remember the first person to spell 4 words correctly, wins!

Topic: Today we will learn that what people wear can be influenced by where they live or what they believe.

The changes in fashion overtime were sometimes influenced by money, materials available or people travelling and seeing new styles. But another reason fashion changes is due to the way people lived their lives.

Task 1: Why do you think the clothing we have now is so different to those in Neolithic times?

In these times, people were not wearing suits or uniforms, they did not have swimwear or cardigans. Why not?

The way people have lived and behaved has changed greatly over the years and fashion has adapted over time to suit people’s needs and beliefs. Discuss that this is still the case across the world today.

Task 2: Look at the  images below and the video of people who wear different clothing according to beliefs or way of life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkjAvPzXY8Y

Task 3: Why don’t people in Australia wear the same as people who live in the Antarctic?

Did you know religion can also impact what we wear?

(Ensure that children are fully aware of the traditions but fully aware that people all over the world often wear similar clothing– not all countries have varied fashion and style - jeans and a top are pretty standard!).

Whatever we wear– we must respect what others choose to wear too!

Task 4: Can you create an information leaflet to describe fashion in 3 contrasting places around the world  (include one non-European country)?

Helping at Home: Can you help today by helping in your garden?

Happy Thursday!

Love Miss R-B, Mrs Fetherston, Mr Brown and Charlie Fudge xx
