01/05/2020: Home Learning

WAHEY! It’s Friday and it is May!

Happy Friday, Team Amin! April seems to have crawled past and I have continued to miss you even more. This week (and especially yesterday) was a real cracker for me, filled with messages, emails, brilliant videos and lots of learning and laughter on my days in school. You are all really going from strength to strength on this odd home learning front and though I know I have said this before, I could not be prouder to be a part of RAPS and of Team Amin! Big hugs to you all (as I can’t hug you Team Amin, find your adult for me and hug them please!) and I can’t wait to see you all soon xxx

Learning for today:

PE: We’re ditching Joe Wicks this morning for a RAPS special with Miss Tranham and Mr Robinson: https://vimeo.com/413542556

SPELLING TEST (You’re testing yourself on the words from last week!) When you are done, check out the words for this week (T5W3 in spelling section) and have a little practising session.

M: Start with a speedy recap of your 7x. You can do this with a dice game if you have dice, on TTRS, Hit the Button, or you could practise chanting like we do in school?

We are going to practise lots of different Maths skills today. I am attaching a Maths mystery challenge for you all. If you get stuck, ask your adult (or email me) for help! Email me to let me know if you’ve managed to solve the clues and found the answer!! Don’t be tempted to scroll to find the answers!

E: Catch up with the story so far: I have added to it. No writing task today as your Topic task is a big one!

RWIncers - it's a WORDSEARCH today! Have fun!

TOPIC: Revisit all of your learning from this week about rainforests.

Where in the world can you find rainforests? What is the difference between weather and climate? How many types of rainforests are there? What are the different layers in the rainforest? Which creatures and plants can you find in rainforests?

TASK: I would love you to use the new learning that you have been visiting this week to produce a fact file about rainforests. This means you will write in your best handwriting with some pictures/drawings to create a piece of 'Beautiful Work' - like we have done before in class with Hindu Gods and the Stone to Iron Age timelines (prehistory).

Attached below is an example of what beautiful work can look like. Add colours, borders etc to make it look AMAZING! You might want to try and do it on plain paper over a line guide to make it look even better. To do this take a lined piece of paper and go over the lines with a black pen so it shows through. Post your final pieces to Padlet or email to me, I would love to see! And keep them safe for our Home Learning WOW Wall for when we return to school!

Extra activities:

R: Access the new class reader Power Point and listen along to the Diamond Brothers/ read your own book!

Help out at home: Find your adult and see how you can help make their day a little better? Can you fold some clothes? Unload the dishwasher?

Parents: You might like to check out Attenborough’s Planet Earth documentaries on the BBC. There are certainly some scary/rather informative sections but they are such wonderful documentaries filled with lots of learning.

Have a fantastically fun Friday! See what I did there, that is a________. Don’t forget to send me emails/pictures of yourself doing learning/upload to Padlet! Missing you as always!

Miss Amin x
