30/06/2020: Home Learning

Good morning, Team Amin!

Learning for today:

PE: Have a go at another one of the Viking Isolation Games challenges!

M: Start with a speedy recap of your 11x and 12x on Rockstars, Hit the Button, Bingo etc.

Let’s practise our ASN:

45+42    82+7    -10   99-12    DLXIX

All of them:

Some of them:

None of them:

Riddle: Mr. Smith has 4 daughters. Each of his daughters has a brother. How many children does Mr. Smith have?

Continuing with Oak Academy for their videos as we think about describing positions on a 2D grid, here is Lesson 2: https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/to-investigate-a-problem-describing-positions-on-a-2-d-grid-as-coordinat

Remember: Along the corridor and up the stairs. X is along, Y is up, and it is always (X, Y) with the brackets around values when describing the coordinates.

At the end of the video, you will be taken to a series of questions which I would like you to try out and a final quiz! You will need to read coordinates and even plot points yourself. You might print the worksheet or simply map in your head where you would plot your cross. Don’t forget, you PLOT where the two lines meet and NEVER in the middle of the box!

E: Listen to the next chapters of Varjak Paw which I put online for you over the weekend if you haven’t caught up! More to come later this week.

Today, we are going to create our story journey map which will be our planning for when we write our story. This will be a five part story: opening, problem, journey to the Outside (place unknown), resolution (searching for and finding the thing) and ending. Your planning could be a long line down a page, a story mountain, or just a standard brainstorm, or indeed whatever you find easier. What will happen!?

RWInc: Please find the relevant spellings and story text attached below for A Box Full of Light with today’s learning task.

Topic: Quick question: What goes into a chocolate bar?

Lots of thinking about chocolate today! Work you way through the Powerpoint, think about the questions/tasks and do your own research! Hopefully, you will also take the time to eat some chocolate too! :)

Extra activities:

Viking Games: Take a look at the latest Viking Games challenge set for you by Mrs Horrigan.

R: Access the class reader Powerpoint if you haven’t already and listen along and/or read a chapter of a book of your choice. I have added chapters for you recently.

Have a wonderful day! Happy learning! Don’t forget to send me emails/pictures!
