Pioneering Places: Ramsgate

Do you want to learn something new? Do you want to meet new people, work as part of a team and contribute towards the school community?

Turner Contemporary is working with Children from Ramsgate Arts Primary and St Lawrence’s Junior Academy on a project called Pioneering Places.

Since September 2018, the children have been researching Ramsgate’s heritage and responding creatively. In July 2020, a major new artwork for Ramsgate will be installed at the Harbour, chosen by the children and informed by their research.

As part of the project we are offering FREE places for parents and carers on a 16 week course designed to help children to be more creative in their lives. This is a City & Guilds level 1 qualification that could lead to other courses or act as the first step towards employment opportunities elsewhere. All participants will also gain a First Aid qualification valid for 3 years and will receive an enhanced DBS check.

The offer is FREE to all parents and carers, not just those with children on this course.

No qualifications are required, we just want your enthusiasm and commitment.

Course starts on 10th September 2019.

It will run on Tuesdays during term time, during school hours. Each session is 2 hours long (unless a workshop is offered).

If you are available and interested, please email Jo on jmartin@turnercontemporary.org to claim your free place. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Include your full name and contact details and state which school you are linked to.
