We finished reading our first 'Charlie and Lola' text on Friday afternoon and had a go at role playing our favourite scenes! We loved being characters in role and sharing our scenes with the class!
This afternoon, we had a fantastic road safety workshop. We learnt how to cross the road safely using our senses. First, we stopped, then we listened for cars and looked both ways. We also talked about the road safety code: Stop, Look, Listen, Hold Hands! We even had a quiz to decide what is safe and unsafe when crossing a road. Did you know kerbs help keep us safe? Remember, always follow the rules to stay safe on the roads! Well done, Team Morris!
Please find attached the spelling homework for week 2. They will be sent home on Friday 17th January and will be tested on Friday 24th January.
This term, we are learning all about shape! Today, we recapped our Year 1 learning, recalling names of key 2D and 3D shapes and what they look like before exploring these shapes inside our classroom and going on a shape hunt in the Key Stage 1 corridor to see if we could spot them! Take a look at us in action!
Today, we made our own fruit faces.... and we got to eat them too!
Hello! As we enter Term 3, one spelling sheet will be given out to all children. They will be given out on Friday 10th January, and are due back the following Friday (17th).
Happy New Year and welcome back.
Keep an eye out on the blog to find out more about the children's learning in school! We have a short, but busy and exciting Term 3.
Also, a friendly reminder that Year 2 are off to the library on Tuesday 14th January. If you are able to join as a helper, that would be much appreciated - please speak to a member of the team.
Thank you!
Year 2 team :)
What a busy week we have had in Year 2 with a Christmas showcase, party games, a trip to the Grotto, Christmas lunch and the final day of school in 2024!
Wishing all of our Year 2 families a very Merry Christmas! Thank you for your continued support over these past 2 terms with trips, shows and Christmas fun! Enjoy the break and we will see you in the new year!
What a fun afternoon Year 2 has had after their amazing show playing games, dancing and eating some wonderful party food! Thank you, parents and carers, for your continued support!
This term, we are exploring Christianity and… Christmas! Last week, we shared our existing knowledge of Christmas with our talk partners, discussing what we had learnt previously in Year 1 before exploring the story of the Nativity and symbols throughout it! Then, we orally retold the story before collaborating with each other to re-enact key sections of the story. We absolutely loved performing the story chronologically with our peers. Well done, Year 2.
