Mexican cooking project

Linking in with our termly topic of, 'Mexico:Then and Now', the children are going to be undertaking a cooking project led by the community chef and utilising the kitchen facilities of the Royal Harbour secondary school...

Over the first four days of the week (Monday and Thursday mornings, and Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons), the children will be heading up to the Lower site of Royal Harbour to learn some basic cookery skills and recipes and menus of Mexican food.

Once they have become accustomed to Mexican cuisine, they will prepare a lunch for family guests on Friday. Hopefully, your child brought home an invitation from school today with all the details. In case they didn't, up to 2 guests are welcome at Royal Harbour (lower site) between 12 and 1 on Friday 1st July. Once they have cleared up, you are welcome to take your child home with you if you wish. Please let the year six teachers know in advance if you will be taking the children, so we know who needs to bring their bag, lunch box etc. when we travel to Royal Harbour on the Friday morning.
