Spellings and Homework

Well done guys - some great results in Friday's spelling tests! Please find attached the latest words to learn for next Friday...

This week, the next ten words from the year 5/6 statutory list need to be learned before the test on Friday 16th. There are paper copies in the year 6 classrooms and there are opportunities to practise the words in class during early morning work as well, however please do spend time learning the words at home too.

The latest reading comprehension has gone home too. Over the last couple of weeks in our class guided reading sessions, we will continue to develop the key skills for answering these types of questions.

Finally, in maths over the last few weeks, the children have worked so hard to understand various methods and strategies for multiplication and division. As well as they have grasped the methods, some pupils are being let down by their times tables knowledge and are reliant on multiplication grids to work through the methods. Please spend some time going over all their times tables at home. This can be in the form of games as well as learning by rote (reciting them in and out of order).
