Times Tables

Year 4 is an important one for times tables. The expectation is that all children are able to recall their tables; from 2x2 to 12x12 before they finish the year. Check out below to see how we have been getting on and how you can help.

Every week we test the children on 100 mixed times tables. It has been impressive to see how far the children have progressed in such a short time. Every week we crown a times tables champion, a most improved and look to see who has entered our 50 plus club and our new 75 plus club.

Congratulations to Param, who got 100/100 for the third week running and also to Jade for being most improved.

Our 75+ club now has Isla, Noah, Jak, Aryan, Param, Mark V, and Mark T as members. Well done to you all. Let's see if we can get to a point that we need a 90+ club!

As well as the above, a bog shout out to our 50+ club members: Raph, Kacie, Ernie, Mia, Piper, Harry, Grace, Amber, Logan, Italia, Chloe and Sapphire.

Please keep up the good work at home with times tables learning. It really is a hugely important skill. I remember chatting to the head of maths at a local secondary school who told me that the biggest barrier to a child's success in Maths was a lack of times tables knowledge.

This week we have been looking at this trick to learn our three times table.
