How many way can we make numbers to 10

We have had our thinking hats on this week challenging ourselves to find different ways to make numbers! We have been using the fabulous book One is a Snail Ten is a Crab by April and Jeff Sayre as a stimulus for our learning. Each character in the book represents a number according to how many feet they have. We have been using our problems solving and adding skills to find different combinations of the characters to make given numbers. It was great fun and really challenged our maths skills! Some of us even managed to show our working out as addition sentences!
