  • Classifying Invertebrates

    Today we followed on from our learning about vertebrates and found out about all of the different types of invertebrates. Invertebrates have no spine (backbone). We were able to classify invertebrates as insects, arachnids, echinoderms, annelids, crustaceans, molluscs and protozoa based on their characteristics.

  • RAPS has talent!

    We are excited to announce there will be a talent show on the last day of term! We welcome all talents: singing, dancing, telling jokes, story writing and more! There will be class auditions to decide who will go through to the final which is on the last day of term, Friday 27th May. Our class auditions will be on ​Tuesday 17th May​ at lunchtime. If your child would like to audition, they need to be prepared on the day with anything they need e.g name of music track. Please note, there will only be a few children across the school going through to the final at the end of term. Good luck!

  • Songkran Boats

    Today we looked at the Buddhist festival of Songkran. It is the celebration of the New Year, a time when the rivers flood, bringing new life to the fields and allowing the crops to grow. We found out that water is an important part of these celebrations and that people race dragon boats on the rivers. We made our own paper ‘dragon boats’, just like Buddhist children would do during the festival.

  • Drama Workshop

    In our drama workshop led by Mr Williams, we performed scenes from the Lion King and took on the role of different characters. We also learned how to 'space' properly on a stage as well as focused on the movement and behaviour of Pumba, Scar and Narla. Pumba, in particular, was a lot of fun to  act!

  • Lion King Cast

    This afternoon we welcomed Shannon (cover Mufasa) and Kuan (cover Simba and swing) to RAPS. We had so much fun during the workshop, singing 'I just Can't Wait to be King', learning to talk like Zazu and being part of the wildebeest stampede. We were also treated to a private viewing of a scene between Mufasa and Simba performed by Shannon and Kuan before getting an opportunity for a Q&A with the West End performers. We are so grateful to them for coming especially to RAPS and can't wait to see them perform at the show on Wednesday
