Environmental Day: Friday 5th November

Here at RAPS we will be holding an Environmental day on Friday 5th November. This will coincide with The UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

We will be considering:

  • What COPS26 is about.
  • What is climate change ?
  • We will elect 2 Eco -Team representatives for our class for future projects. Children who are interested will need to prepare a speech for this at home.
  • To begin to think about what changes we can make as a school

We will also have the following activities:

  • Thanet district Council are running a half hour assembly about littering at 10.00 for Year 4.
  • A Washing Line Sculpture Class Competition -attached- this will be run by the Arts Team and the winning class will win a Weather Station donated by Cummings. At the end of the day, the Big Draw -Make The Change. Mrs Vost will be working with parents and children to draw a forest with eco tape in the hall, raising awareness of how trees and tree growth can make a positive change to our lives and our world.
  • Finally running throughout the week and up until 18th November-The Class Clothes Competition.. We will be a clothes collection point - classes will compete to have the most bags by weight and the class that wins will win the money raised from their class collection to buy outdoor resources for their class. The classes clothes collection point will be in the playground by Yr2 .  Bags and a leaflet will be taken home today. Check out the VIMEO below.
