LAST DAY!

It had to come eventually but, after seven years for some children, the last day at RAPS is on Monday. Here are some key details for parents regarding their last day...

Firstly, I want to remind you of the message sent out on Friday:

The temperatures look set to reach the low to medium 30’s on Monday and Tuesday, we have already postponed Sports day until September but would advise that the children also wear their PE kits as this is probably cooler than their school uniform and also to bring in a water bottle and hat. We will also be opening the school gates from 1.30pm (following afternoon registration) for pupils to be picked up from classroom, by a parent, to be taken home out of the heat. (Leaving school unaccompanied passes will not apply at this time – the children must be picked up from the classroom).

Whilst making sure that the children are wearing something cool, can you also send them in with one or two school shirts for them to get signed. There will be an hour when they can sign each other's shirts and get messages from previous staff too.

At lunch, Mr Budge and the Year 6 team will walk the children over to the Newington fish bar for a bowl of chips as a farewell lunch. The children can of course have their own lunch as well or supplement it with some bits from home.

Finally, in light of school closing at 1:30 for those parents who wish to collect their children early, we did not want this cohort to miss out on the 'arch' goodbye. This is where the rest of the school line the corridor in two lines facing each other, forming a tunnel with the arms for the year 6s to walk through. As a result, Year 6 will be undertaking this at 1:25 before the other classes are collected. If possible, please be at THE FRONT ENTRANCE to collect your child at 1:25 when they emerge! As already stated in the message from the school, children will NOT be allowed to leave unattended at this time, so if you cannot attend, the children will come back to the classroom with the year 6 team.

Thank you for all your support over the year; we hope you have a wonderful summer.
