A World Of Sound

In topic at the moment year 4 are studying SOUND! We have been learning how sound travels and how our ears help us hear sounds! Today we used glass bottles filled with varied amounts of water to explore whether they made a high-pitch sound or a low pitch-sound.

We tested the different bottles and realised that the bottle with the lowest water level made the lowest pitch sound. We learnt that this is because the air molecules have lots of room to vibrate slower, making the sound lower.
