  • Summer Reading Challenge!

    This summer, we would like to invite you to take part in the Summer Reading Challenge! You can go along to your local library and join the challenge for FREE! When you sign up, you will get a reading folder for you to collect rewards and stickers for every book you read. You will receive a certificate to celebrate your completion of the challenge. 

    We would love for you to share lots of your pictures of you visiting the library and Ms O will give you an additional sticker if you send in a photo!

    We can't wait to hear about all the books you have read over the summer. Happy reading!

    This week we've been looking at mass on scales. We have been identifying the weight of objects in grams and kilograms.

    We have also been identifying the mass of an object when the number isn't written on the scale, for example when the arrow is pointing in between 20g and 30g.

    We had a visit from the Kent Road Safety Club to talk us through how we can use roads safely. 

    When we are out, we need to remember the Kent Road Safety Code;

    • STOP before the kerb
    • LOOK and LISTEN for traffic
    • THINK about what to do
    • CROSS the road safely with an adult, looking and listening all the time

  • Welcome to Term 6!

    Welcome back, we hope you had a relaxing half term! Please see below for some key information for this term:

    PE will continue to be on Monday and Wednesday for Team Gunson and Tuesday and Wednesday for Team Okai. We will be practising tennis and cricket skills this term, please ensure children come to school with a named water bottle.

    Our Topic this term is Life as a journey, in this science topic we will be exploring the life cycles of plants and animals through class lessons and our beach school trips!

    Please note the next Beach School trip is this Friday 9th June. Please provide children with named sun cream, a hat and a suitable change of shoes for the beach.

    Parent readers will be on Thursdays 2:40pm - 2:55pm.

    We will be taking part in our second Beach school session this Friday. We ask that children come into school in full school uniform but with shoes/trainers/boots that you do not mind getting sandy/wet as well as a hat, sunscreen and a spare shoes and socks.

  • Tide and Seek Beach School

    Last Friday Team Okai went down to Stone Bay to take part in the first of their 5 beach school lessons. We spent the morning exploring the different creatures and plant life you could find on the beach, and had a go at making some beach shelters. We even found some unusual things that wouldn't typically be found on the beach! We are looking forward to our next visit on Friday 26th May!
