Home Learning Wednesday 1st April

Please see below for today's learning.

Well, we made it, it's the final day of a very peculiar term. That means that I won't be posting up learning for you every day but I hope that we can still stay in touch via our Padlet page. If you haven't checked it out yet please do, it's already starting to fill up with pictures and messages.

Here's a tougher riddle for you all today: I have rivers with no water, forests with no trees, towns with no buildings and mountains with no stone. What am I? I will post the answer on Padlet tomorrow.

Maths: I am going to start to use this website for our maths-

I would like you to go to the Year 5 home learning section, here -

Each day will have a lesson video, a set of questions and a set of answers. Start today with Week 1 Lesson 1 - Decimals up to two dp. Please let me know how you get on and if there's any issues. There are 2 weeks worth of lessons so far. If you would like to do more over Easter feel free. When we re-start our learning I will begin at week 3, so there is plenty for you to do in the meantime if you so wish.

English: You have three choices for our learning today.

1. Complete your myth. This can take the form of an edit if you have drafted it all, Success Criteria are to make sure you have included: Well-chosen adjectives and verbs, capital letters on proper nouns, a simile, a double _ly starter sentence (2 adverbs), an Outside. (Inside.) sentence and a 2 pairs sentence.

2. Carry on your journal. We are now into our second week of home learning. What have been your high points? What have you found difficult about staying in your house and not being able to go out as much as you normally would?

3. Creative writing, continue the story. See the attached prompt sheet.

Topic: Create a mind-map or topic quiz about what you now know about the Anglo-Saxons. Think about all the things we have learned at school and at home: Who were the Anglo-Saxons? Where did they come from? Why did they come to Britain?  During what times did they live? What were their villages like? Who were Hengist and Horsa? Did they like the arts? What was found at Sutton Hoo? How and who did they worship?  How did they fight? Who were the Vikings? Who was Beowulf?

Happy learning Team Gunson :)
