01/04: Home Learning

Good morning, Team Amin! It’s the last day of term!

We've made it! Can I just say Team Amin (parents and children alike), I have been absolutely blown away over the past days by how enthusiastic and dedicated you have been with your home learning!! Some of you are working on your own little projects, some of you are focusing on recapping tricky learning, some of you are gardening and cooking and learning important life skills. I am so proud to be a part of this journey with you and reading what you are getting up to via email really brightens my day.

Keep using Padlet today and over the Easter to get in contact to and support each other and make sure you send pictures of your Easter bonnets and eggs to me (see previous blog)!

Tasks for the day:

Breakfast: How can you help your adults at home? Help with making breakfast or help with the cleaning up this morning. Miss Amin’s job growing up included unloading/loading the dishwasher and washing up.

PE: Tune into Joe Wicks’ workout this morning for a wakeup call! Remember to find a safe space to do this and to have a water bottle ready!

M: Practise your division. Practise your bus stop method. Ask an adult or go online for a reminder of the steps. You can find bus stop worksheets and a teaching Powerpoint in the Maths area in Home Learning.

SPAG: Revisit our learning about main and subordinate clauses. There are lots of worksheets to choose from in the home learning section to aid you with practising. Remember: the main clause makes sense all by itself. It could be a sentence if you put a full stop on the end. The subordinate clause adds extra information and can begin with a subordinating conjunction.

W and T: Continue with your final piece about the prehistoric ages. You might like to revisit the videos or read some of the learner guides to support you. Don’t forget that you can add colour and illustrations too!

Extra activities:

Journal: Add another entry to your journal. What has happened over the past few days? What are you looking forward to this Easter?

R: Access the GG Powerpoint and listen along to Groosham Grange and/or read a chapter of a book of your choice.

Art: Create some art inspired by your favourite cartoon/movie character. You might like to paint, draw, use an IPAD to design… it is up to you!
Today is the last day of your home learning blogs until after the Easter holidays. I will begin posting again on Thursday 16th April (though I will try to add a few more chapters of GG soon). If you would like any more learning for over the Easter period, please click on the Year 4 folder above the blog which is full  of resources. The passsword for this remains the same as per the letter sent out a few weeks ago. Remember to keep reading and practising X tables over the holiday too AND if you are doing something which you want to share, post to Padlet and I will be able to see (and would love to hear all about it)!

Have a super Wednesday before the Easter holiday begins! Happy learning!

Keep smiling and stay safe!

Miss Amin x
