Trip to Canterbury Cathedral

Yesterday, we went to Canterbury Cathedral!

Yesterday we got the train to Canterbury to learn more about Thomas Beckett and the Anglo Saxons and Vikings. First, we did a costume tour where we got to dress up as the Arch Bishop, Thomas Beckett, the king, his knights, monks and the people of Canterbury. We walked round the Cathedral and learnt about how monks would've lived and helped to retell the story of the brutal murder of Thomas Beckett! We also completed a trail of the cathedral and then practised writing in Viking runes using a quill, completed some stained glass windows and embossed a Canterbury Cross which we embellished with jewels. It was a great day and we definitely learnt a lot. Click on the photos to see more.
