This is going to be a very busy term. In maths, we will start off looking at time and then explore statistics and shape. In English, we will be reading The London Eye Mystery by Siabhan Dowd. Our topic this term is 'A World of Buildings.'

You will need your PE kits on Tuesday and Wednesday (now that the weather is getting warmer it would be an idea to bring a sun hat).

Monday: Art. Tuesday: Musical Theatre & PE. Wednesday: PE & Music. Thursday: DT & Computing.

Keep an eye on the blog for important information. Let's have an amazing term together!!

At the end of last term, we had an amazing writing celebration. We went outside to sit near the chickens to read our First Person Narratives based on Charlotte's Web. This prove to be one of my favourite activities so far this year!

Every member of the class produced a piece of quality writing which they were proud of. Let's hope that in the coming term we are able to have many more of these celebration events.

We will be travelling to Upton Junior to take part in the Viking Games. Please can all children arrive as normal for 8:30am on the day of the competition. We will be leaving promptly to walk to the station to catch the train.

Children should come to school wearing their PE kits, ideally with a t-shirt of their house colour if possible, and wearing sports trainers.

If the weather is hot, please can children bring a hat, wear sun cream and have a water bottle with them. If it turns out to be a chilly day, jogging bottoms and a jumper will be needed.

They will also need a packed lunch as we are going to eat lunch at Upton. If your child is eligible for Free School Meals, they will receive a school packed lunch.

If you think your child would benefit from reading the social story, it is attached below.

This week, Year 4 visited the beach and Crab Museum in Margate. We had a great time exploring the shoreline for evidence of vertebrates and invertebrates. We also managed to consolidate our learning about food chains by finding a plant or animal and thinking about whether it is predator or prey.

In the Crab Museum, we used microscopes to see the tiny creatures that live in sand and amongst the seaweed. We also learnt more about invertebrates by exploring the information in the museum.
