Term 2- Art Competition
Term 2 Art competition – Winter Landscape
Term 2 Art competition – Winter Landscape
Huge congratulations to all those who entered last term’s art competition. We had many wonderful creations on the theme of Autumn. There were three over all winners, so a huge congratulations to them and all the other children that entered for the incredibly high standards.
This term’s art competition has another seasonal theme, this time based on Winter. I am asking children to create their own interpretation of a winter landscape using a media of their choice. The artwork can be any size but needs to be in the format of landscape. If children require any paper or materials, these can be collected from the art room.
This week, I introduced the children to 3 artists they can base their work on. Franz Marc, Hokusai and Sophie Hope Flavell. Sophie will be coming to school next week to run a painting workshop with some of the children. She is a local artist based in Whitstable who creates magnificent mixed media painted canvases. Children do not have to use the artist but may like to have a look at some examples of their work to inspire them.
