Partitioning into tens and ones.
Partitioning into tens and ones.
On Friday in maths we built on our previous learning and completed step 5: partition into tens and ones. We had to; identify the whole and then identify the parts.
The children were really confident using the correct mathematical language and could partition numbers to 50 well. By all means test them out at home and see if they can tell you the tens and ones values in random numbers, can they draw the dienes for you? Or use everyday objects as dienes? Maybe a banana is 10 and blueberries are 1?
