Dinosaur Poets in Reception!
Power of Reading...
This week in Reception, the children have been enjoying performing dinosaur poetry from A First Book of Dinosaurs. We listened carefully to the poem, joined in with the repeated parts and thought about how to use our voices and actions to bring the words to life.
This helped the children build confidence in speaking aloud, listening closely and working together. Performing poetry also supports rhythm, expression and understanding of language in a fun and memorable way.
The children loved becoming dinosaur performers and really brought the poem to life with great enthusiasm.
