Sunshine, Smiles and Busy Play!

Team Piper were so happy to be back and ready for a lovely afternoon of learning through play...

It has been so lovely to welcome Team Piper back for the new term. The children were so happy to be back together and many of them chose to spend their activity time outside in the sunshine, which was wonderful to see. They were busy exploring, creating, chatting and playing happily with their friends.

Activity time is such an important part of learning in Reception. It gives the children the chance to follow their interests, practise their social skills, build confidence, solve problems and develop their language through play. These moments help children become more independent learners as they make choices, explore ideas and learn how to work together.

You could ask your child about their play by saying, “What did you choose to do in activity time today?”, “Who did you play with?”, “What did you build, make or create?”, or “What was your favourite part of playing outside?” These simple questions can help your child talk about their day and feel proud of their learning.

We are so excited for all of the fun, sunshine and learning still to come this term.
