Climbing Mount Everest

For topic today we continued our exploration of 'Land and Water' by learning all about the tallest mountain on Earth, Mount Everest, which stands at over 29,000 ft above sea level. We discussed the dangers of the extreme temperatures, the climate and challenges that mountaineers face. 

Then we role-played as expedition teams and put ourselves in the place Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay the first people to ever successfully climb the mountain in 1953.
