STEAM Week Day 4 - Team Hayzelden

Today, we have been treated to two fantastic workshops, one from Dr Hollie Burrell-Saward all about microbes and the other from the School of Noise.

The first workshop was all about microbes, where we talked about the good, the bad and the ugly with bacteria and microbes. We then were split into two groups, Hygiene Heroes and Patient Zeroes. We all had glow lotion on our hands, but patient zeroes had to touch as much furniture as they could and hygiene heroes had to wash their hands. Then, everything was inspected under a light to see how the microbes had spread, and we were shocked to see the microbes everywhere! I was also very impressed with Team Hayzelden's handwashing skills, as most of them managed to return with completely clean hands. 

Then, this afternoon we had another great workshop from 'School of Noise'. We were able to test different ways of making sound, as well as learning that sound travels in waves, caused by vibrations.
