What a lovely last library visit we had!
A wonderful final trip to the library! As always, thank you to all of our parents and carers who joined the Year 2 trips to the library, and for your help with sending in library cards and returning books. Without volunteers, we would not be able to do these visits and we know the children love having you there whenever possible!
This week in Topic, we are exploring fashion over the years and how clothes have stayed the same and how they have changed as well! We have started to look at fashion styles with photos from the 1940s compared with the 21st century, and we have also started to reflect on just how many similarities in types of clothing there are! Why not help us compare clothing and fashion in our own lives? Miss Amin has set us the challenge of looking at any old family photos we have and comparing what people wore many years ago compared to what we wear today!
Year 2 are looking forward to KS1 Sports Day on Wednesday 17th June from 1:00pm to 2:45pm. It promises to be a fun-filled afternoon of sporting activities, teamwork and friendly competition! Please ensure all children:

On the morning of the 7th July, years 2-5 will be taking part in a really exciting project called Dance for Rights. Along with thousands of other children, we will be joining in with this nationwide dance event, livestreamed from the Royal Opera House, to celebrate children's rights.

Please remember that all children need to come to school wearing a T-shirt in their House colour on this day.
It will be a really fun morning and a chance for the children to channel their creativity and express themselves through movement for a very important cause!
Our RAPS Topic unit this term is called “What We Wear”. For our Art to Start, we created our own clothes and accessories using newspaper, inspired by various fashion designers. We made skirts, waistcoats, T-shirts, shoes, hats, hairbands, necklaces, handbags, watches and so much more. We had so much fun making these, were extremely creative and even chose to wear some of our designs home!
Huge congratulations to our Year 2 engineers who visited CCCU yesterday to take part in a celebration of their vehicle builds during STEAM Week. They took part in interviews with leading professors and engineers talking about their incredible vehicle builds with such confidence and were fantastic ambassadors for RAPS! Well done indeed.
Support Thanet Families – School Donation Drive
On Friday 12 June, we’ll be coming together as a school to support Mama to Mama, Thanet’s local baby bank.
We’re inviting the children to bring in one item from the attached list (or more if they wish) to help families in our community who are facing poverty.
Supermarket own brands are absolutely fine - there’s no need to buy expensive products
Thank you for your support.
