Cartouche Painting

To get us really immersed in our new Topic, we used clay to create our own cartouches on Tuesday afternoon. Cartouches, which are oblong and carved tablets, were used to write the names of kings and queens. These would be written in Egyptian hieroglyphs so we used the hieroglyphic alphabet to help us write our names on our creations. Today, we completed our masterpieces by painting them in bright, bold colours. Come and take a look inside our classroom!
