Team Piper maths. Step 4: 1 More!
Learning that 1 more makes the number bigger!
Today in Team Piper, we learned all about 1 more! The children used counters to discover that when we add 1 more, the number gets bigger.
We practised saying:
“1 and 1 more makes 2!”
“2 and 1 more makes 3!”
This learning is part of our White Rose Maths scheme, which helps children build strong number sense through practical, playful activities.
You can help at home by practising this when playing or tidying up, for example, “You have 2 cars, what’s 1 more?” or “Let’s put 1 more apple in the bowl!”
The children are becoming confident little mathematicians already! 🧮✨
