✨ Once Upon a Story: Can I Retell a Story? ✨

Exploring The Three Little Pigs through play, imagination, and storytelling!

This week, Team Piper began their brand new topic — Once Upon a Story!
We’re diving into the world of traditional tales, stories that begin with Once upon a time… and end with a happy ever after! 🌈

To start our storytelling adventure, we explored one of the most famous tales of all — The Three Little Pigs! 🐷🐷🐷🐺

The children became real-life story explorers, investigating three mystery piles that Mrs Piper had: straw, sticks, and bricks! They quickly guessed which story they belonged to and joined in beautifully as we read the tale together. Everyone shared fantastic predictions about what might happen when the Big Bad Wolf came along to huff and puff! 💨

Then came the fun part, making our own houses! Using a range of materials, the children got creative at our three craft stations:

🏠 Straw Houses: made with straw
🏠 Stick Houses: crafted with little sicks and lollipop sticks
🏠 Brick Houses: sticking red paper squares

We’re now ready to start retelling the story ourselves using actions, voices, and props — bringing The Three Little Pigs to life! 🎭

💬 Can you retell the story at home?
You could use your toys as characters, draw the three houses, or even act it out with your family! Retelling stories helps children build confidence, remember key events in order, and use story language like Once upon a time and He huffed and he puffed!

We can’t wait to hear your home versions of The Three Little Pigs! 🏡
