Art to Start for Term 2 in Team Bullard

Inspired by Sophus Tromholt's sketches of the Aurora Borealis.

Today we started our topic of 'Forces and Magnets' by looking at the work of Danish teacher and amateur photographer Sophus Tromholt. Tromholt had to sketch the aurora as the quality of camera's during the late 1800's meant the natural wonder was difficult to capture. The Aurora Borealis is most commonly seen at the magnetic North Pole. You can read more about this here : Northern Lights images from 140 years ago on show in Cambridge - BBC News

Inspired by this, we used chalk pastels and black card to create our own Northern lights.
