The Highwayman

At the start of this term in English, our focus has been on 'The Highwayman' by Alfred Noyes...
We have read the first half of the classic ballad, but deliberately stopped at this point so that the children are unaware of how the story ends.
The children have now been tasked with writing their very own ending. If the children knew the actual ending, they may be inclined to follow these events rather than creatively construct their own stories. On Friday we planned our own alternative endings (and the ideas were varied and incredible!) and we shall begin to write them next week.
I shall endeavour to add a few to future blog posts, once they are complete!
