Symbolism in Red and the City

During our work on Red and the City, we have been looking at the symbolism in the illustrations to work out the themes of the book. We noticed that the wolf appeared throughout the city imagery as Red got more and more distracted by buying and consuming things! We discussed consumerism and realised that Red was buying lots of things that she didn't need and had become swallowed up by the city. We used art to depict how we can sometimes feel overwhelmed or swalled up with modern life.
