First week of 2026!

We’ve had a fantastic first week back at school and the children have settled in brilliantly. This week was Personal Development Week, giving us lots of opportunities for thoughtful discussion and reflection.
In RE, we have been learning about Hindu gods and exploring how Hindus worship, developing our understanding of different beliefs and cultures. During PSHE, the children focused on recognising their emotions and learning strategies to self-regulate, helping them to manage situations that may make them feel frustrated or angry.
We also explored some important life skills by learning about the different things adults pay for to keep us safe, warm, and comfortable in our homes, encouraging appreciation and real-world awareness.
As part of our Citizenship learning, the children worked collaboratively to produce a video about the Rule of Law, showcasing their understanding in a creative and engaging way.
We finished the week with a lively and engaging debate on whether Disney movies provide good or bad role models for children. The children shared some thoughtful opinions — perhaps ask your child what they think!
It’s been a great start to the term, and we’re looking forward to the weeks ahead.
