Constellations – Space Topic

Constellations
As part of our space topic, the children explored constellations. They learned that constellations are groups of stars that form patterns in the night sky.
The children created their own constellations using materials to represent stars, choosing where to place them and giving their patterns names. Through this creative activity, they talked about the shapes they could see and shared ideas about what their constellations looked like.
Adults supported learning by introducing new vocabulary such as stars, constellation, space and night sky, and by encouraging the children to describe their creations.
