Safer Internet Day 2026

Safer Internet Day 2026 – 10th February

We’re excited to share that Safer Internet Day 2026 will take place on Tuesday 10th February  2026! This globally recognised event encourages children, families and schools to think about how they use technology safely and responsibly — especially now that AI (artificial intelligence) is part of everyday life.

This year, the theme is:

“Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.”

This theme helps children learn how to make safe, smart decisions while using technology — whether that’s chatting with an AI, exploring online tools or navigating smart devices. At RAPS, we will be learning about online safety in a variety of engaging ways including:

  • BBC Live Lesson at 11am: Our pupils will join the Safer Internet Day 2026 Live Lesson via BBC Teach. You can view this lesson at: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/livelessons (search for Safer Internet Day 2026)

  • Hour of AI: Inspired by the Hour of Code, students will explore AI through fun, practical activities during computing lessons or at another convenient time during the week.

Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity for children to reflect on how they use technology, learn practical tips to stay safe online, and think critically about the role of AI in our daily lives. We encourage parents to continue these conversations at home and explore ways to make online spaces positive, safe, and fun.
