Activity Time with Team Piper...

The children have been loving activity time as always. They enjoy getting messy, exploring resources and having fun with their friends through child initiated play.

During activity time, adults carefully join the children in their play. We talk with them about what they are doing, ask thoughtful questions, model language and help them develop their ideas further. This supports children to play and explore, have a go, and think critically about their learning.

This is why play is so important in Reception. Through play, children build confidence, develop communication and social skills, and deepen their understanding of the world in a way that feels meaningful and enjoyable to them.
