The children explored parts and wholes using dominoes and cars, bringing addition to life through fun, hands-on learning! 🚗🔢
In maths, the children have been exploring how numbers can be split into two parts and combined to make a whole. They used dominoes and placed them on top of cars to help them identify how many spots were on each side of the domino. The children carefully counted the dots on each part to find the two numbers, then added them together to work out the total altogether.
After finding the numbers, they “parked” the cars in the correct numbered parking slot, matching the total to the right space. The children were excited to check their counting and loved seeing the cars parked in the correct places, helping to strengthen their understanding of part–part–whole and addition in a fun and practical way.
