Speakers, Talents & Big Ideas!

It’s been a very busy and exciting week in class!
This week the children have started writing their speeches for the Speakers’ Competition, all based on the theme “Your Passion.” They’ve loved choosing topics that really matter to them and have already shown so much confidence and enthusiasm. The children will be bringing their speeches home to practise and improve with you. Please can these be returned to school on Monday – thank you so much for your support. Practising aloud at home really makes a difference!
The excitement level went up even more this week with the announcement of the school Talent Show! Many children have already started preparing their performances and are full of ideas. You might like to ask your child what they’re planning to do – they’ll be very happy to tell you!
In Personal Development, we’ve been talking about what makes a healthy relationship, exploring different types of relationships, and thinking carefully about how we show respect to others. The children have also been writing their own petitions and have been incredibly enthusiastic about gathering signatures. Their ideas have ranged from helping the environment, to more playtime equipment, to (perhaps unsurprisingly!) reducing school hours!
It’s been wonderful to see their confidence, creativity, and passion shine through this week. Have a lovely weekend!
