Number Writing at School!

We have started to introduce some number writing at school! The children are doing a great job learning how to form their numbers carefully and correctly.

To help avoid any confusion between home and school, I thought it would be helpful to share how we write our numbers in class. This supports the children in building good habits right from the start.

When practising at home, we encourage the children to:
• Start numbers in the correct place
• Use the right direction when forming each number
• Take their time

💬 Try this at home:
• Write numbers in the air using your finger
• Use a finger to draw numbers on your child’s back and guess the number
• Practise numbers with big arm movements
• Say the number as you write it
