Seedling science

Our topic learning is getting us in a green-fingered mood !
Over the past week and a half Team Bullard have become scientific gardeners !
First we planted our seeds, working in pairs to investigate one of the following:
- Will the amount of soil affect a plant's growth?
-Will the amount of water affect a plant's growth ?
- Will the distance between seeds affect the growth of a plant?
-Will different amounts of light affect a plant's growth?
We know that we must only change one variable to make it a fair test.

In today's lesson we then dissected tulips to investigate the function of a plant's parts. We discussed that pollen comes off easily and is sticky so that it can spread easily, whereas the middle of the plant (style) was strong, meaning it should need to stay stable. Some of us also noticed that the stem was wetter nearer the root which must mean this is where the water comes up from.
