Pattern Power!

Today the children have been learning to recognise, copy and continue more complex repeating patterns, including AAB and ABB patterns.

The children made their own movement patterns, such as clap, clap, stomp, clap, clap, stomp. This helped them to spot what repeats, say the pattern out loud and think carefully about what comes next.

At home, you could make movement patterns together using claps, stomps, jumps or taps. Can your child copy your pattern, continue it, or make their own for you to follow?
