Plant-astic !

This week we have been focusing on our learning of plants. On Monday, we used watercolours to paint our plant observational drawings from the previous mindfulness Monday whilst listening to relaxing classical music. 

Today we collected and studied leaves to work out what the structure and function of a leaf is. We learnt that a leaf is like a solar panel for the plant in that it absorbs sunlight to create energy that helps the plant to grow. We drew our collected leaves and labelled the parts: stalk, midrib, apex and viens.
