Sound experiment!
In this lesson, the children explored how the volume and pitch of sound can change. They worked together in groups to carry out a fair test, with one child making the sound, one measuring the distance, and one listening carefully. Taking their learning out into the field, the children tested sounds in different outdoor spaces and recorded their results in a table. They looked for patterns in what they heard and discovered that sounds can become quieter as the distance increases. Using their observations, the children were able to form simple conclusions about how sound travels. Ask me how sound travels!
