Maths: Counting On

Today in maths, Team Piper moved on to the next step in our White Rose Maths learning: Step 6, verbal counting patterns.

The children picked up a number card and practised carrying on counting from that number. This helped them think carefully about what number comes next.

To practise at home, choose a number and ask your child to count on from there. For example, “Start at 11… what comes next?” You could also use number cards, toys, steps or snacks to make it fun.
