Star Warts - Update

I hope you are enjoying the wonderful weather.  Here is an update for our year 6 production - Star Warts.

Rehearsals are going well, and the children are all excited to show you their hard work on 30th June.  To help them give the very best performance, they really need to be off book and have their lines learnt as soon as possible.  With every play, actors only really start to make progress with their character once the script has been put down.  With the lines learnt, they are free to experiment with their voice and blocking. You can help with this at home by practising their lines with them. This can be done at meal times, during car journeys or whenever you both have free time together.

As you may know, the play is a parody of the Star Wars films, with the characters being very close to those in the original trilogy.  As hard as it may be to believe, not every 10/11 year old has seen these films (showing my age), it may really help to get them into character if they were familiar with the characters/stories from the films.  Would it be possible to share one of them with your child to help them prepare.

Finally, a costume letter will be sent out on the first Monday back after the holidays.  Please note that the suggestions in the letter are a guide only, and please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like help thinking of costume ideas.
