Betteshanger - Survival!

Lots of fun at Betteshanger!
On Friday, Year 4 had a fantastic day at Betteshanger Country Park. We were lucky to have beautiful hot, sunny weather, although the shade beneath the trees kept us nice and cool while we explored the woodland.
Working in teams, we took part in a survival challenge to build our own shelters. We quickly discovered that the strongest shelters started with a sturdy triangular-shaped frame made from thick, strong branches before adding smaller sticks and leaves for protection. Teamwork, communication and problem-solving were all essential as we worked together to improve our designs.
After our shelter-building challenge, we had plenty of time to explore the Forest School area. The children loved playing on the swings, creating imaginative meals in the mud kitchen, building dens and playing hide and seek together. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the outdoors, showing creativity and working so well with their friends.
Before heading home, we squeezed in a quick play at the fantastic adventure playground, which was the perfect way to end a brilliant day. It was a memorable trip filled with teamwork, resilience, outdoor learning and lots of smiles!
