Friday's English - 17/4/20

Yesterday you were introduced to our new core text. Jak and Isla were able to produce some interesting predictions based just on the book's title. Today we are going to begin reading it...

Attached below are the first 2 pages. I would like you to read through them a couple of times. You may even want to practise using one or more of the reciprocal reading roles (questioner, clarifier, summariser and predictor).

In these pages, it mentions where Christophe originally came from. Next week we will be writing an information text about this country, so today I would like you to begin some research. Today you are just making notes, so it does not need to be in full sentences. It may help though if you begin to group your notes so you may wish to consider some sub-headings such as: geography, climate, size and population, local culture, wildlife, history.
