Resolving Conflict

How can you flip the pancake?
This week has been personal development week and we have been learning about our emotions. We have been exploring our feelings using role play and reading useful texts such as the excellent book The Colour Monster by Anna Llenas to support our understanding of why we have different emotions and how to manage them. We use the phrase 'flip the pancake' when feeling an emotion such as fear, anger or worried and try to think of strategies to turn those feelings into a positive. We have been so great at expressing how we are feeling and we are starting to use the strategies too. Keep it up!
It was fun role-playing how to correctly resolve a disagreement and we learnt the importance of using our voices to express ourselves, taking turns and listening to each other to keep ourselves safe and prevent conflicts escalating. We also talked about the importance of sharing and discussed strategies we can use to improve our mood.
